Our Story

About Wyld

We started in 2012 doing research on healthier treats and food for dogs as we felt our rescued puppy Thor wasn’t getting everything he needed. Back then there weren’t any raw food companies but we joined a facebook community that had a lot more info on this. Raw feeding back then wasn’t a thing in South Africa it was a very foreign concept to all and very frowned upon.

We were very close friends with a vet who we so desperately sought knowledge from. We started doing a few courses on fresh feeding which opened up our minds to what is actually going on in the pet food industry and this made us understand why we needed to help change the game.

We were the first and original doggy ice cream company in SA. We looove ice cream so we thought why not introduce a range of fresh, healthy & nutritious range of treats to help get away from carb & sugar filled treats and foods.

Simultaneously we were composing our own meals for Thor and he was thriving he was growing into a massive healthy boy. On weekends we were training him and during the week we would have a healthy exercise routine. He was 76 kg of pure muscle at the age of 2 and he was a big lovable guy that used to travel everywhere with me and be my right hand man.

I knew then that I would like to turn this into my career helping dogs live a healthier, happier and longer life and so our brand began.

Why Wyld is different

We are not just a company – we have many rescued dogs of our own that we feed and care for them every single day and we strive to help them and your pets thrive. They are not sickly in any shape or form and they are healthy and thriving and we would like to see the same for all the pets in the world.

We believe in fresh feeding and that’s what we do. We create bespoke healthy diets for all pets and we can accommodate many different ailments and we can customise their diet if needed.

We do not have pre-made food as each order is made fresh for exactly what your dog needs from a BARF, ancestral or prey model diet and packaged according to their daily or meal requirements.
